Is there a way to trap a focus change event on a Textbox in LBB?
See here. You will probably want to use a SUB timer handler rather than the branch handler used in the examples.

Re: Text Entry Cursor stops blinking

What API call is used to invoke the text editor control? What DLL, what parameters? The LBB Texteditor is a superclassed, multiline, Windows Edit Control . I don't know which DLL it is in, does it matter? I'm not too sure what you mean by "parameters", but these are the stylebits if that is helpful...

Re: Text Entry Cursor stops blinking

how difficult is it to turn on one of your Windows 10 PCs If a sample of one is sufficient, on my main (and fastest) Windows 10 desktop PC the caret flashes about 6 times and then stops. Clicking with the mouse restarts the blinking for a similar time. The interesting thing, though, is that I had n...

Does your Windows 10 PC behave as I describe, on text entry programs, that is, such as LBB and Notepad?
We currently have (I think) four Windows 10 PCs here so I will need to do some testing to answer that question fully. I don't think the issue is necessarily limited to Windows 10 either.

Re: Text Entry Cursor stops blinking

that's why I turn to my friends in the community. A Google search confirms that this issue has been reported by many people over the course of several years; it seems that Microsoft either can't or won't fix it. It's not even clear whether it's deliberate or a bug. You will probably have to live wi...

Re: Text Entry Cursor stops blinking

Doesn't ANYONE have a solution or suggestion for this problem? Can you confirm that the same thing happens in Notepad? If it does, I'm afraid it has nothing to do with LBB and you will need to seek a solution elsewhere. If your concern is that it reduces the visibility of the caret, you can always ...

Would you update the proc for 5.1 when you have a chance, and let us know.
It's now been updated for LB 4.5.1.

Re: !SOUND

Is the BBC Basic command !SOUND available in LBB? If so, would you provide an example snippet. I can't think of any reason why SOUND (and the associated ENVELOPE statement) would not work; the *TEMPO command is also relevant. But this 38-year-old functionality is primitive compared with what can be...

Re: Help Files

Would some kind soul tell me again how to convert a HLP file to CHM. I'm not sure that you can, easily. Google finds some info, but it's not something I have ever tried. What has been discussed before is converting the LB help files (which are in HTML format, not HLP ) to CHM. The procedure for tha...

Re: LB5 emulation?

Carl Gundel is promising alpha testing of LB5 by January. LB5 alpha testing began a long time ago, I think. A few people here (Anatoly?, Rod?) are probably amongst the select few who have had the opportunity to try it in its early incarnations. LB5 was first announced by Carl in around 2006 with a ...
