Ha! It's also fun to get the lemmings to fall into the sea, the 'splosh' sound effect is very satisfying but rarely experienced. :)

You said: "Came across this error at a line: close#1 where #1 is a text file opened for input". If it's opened for input, you must not write to it.

Re: Acces Denied at Line x

Came across this error at a line: close#1 where #1 is a text file opened for input. No such error closing #2, the associated output file. Are you certain your program never writes to #1 (accidentally)? That would be the simplest explanation for this error: writing a small amount of data to an 'inpu...

Re: False Positives from AV

they hate using Win10 it is not friendly for them If configured correctly Windows 10 is virtually identical to Windows 7. I use both almost every day: I do not notice any significant difference! and maybe they going to use LINUX instead when Microsoft block Win7 from the internet. You say they &quo...

Re: False Positives from AV

It is not a genuine virus it is a part of a virus a thread or a part of a thread. No, you did not read my reply. It is a heuristic detection, which means Kaspersky did not see any part of a virus. > Defender is an antivirus program No, it is not Yes, it is! You can read here : " Formerly known...

Re: False Positives from AV

I should check the BBC executables if it is accepted by Kasper with no problem, then the problem with LBB. An executable created using BBC BASIC for Windows will never be identical to one created by LB Booster because they are using different versions of the run-time engine. You cannot draw any con...

Re: False Positives from AV

I wondered if it was the way the EXE are being created or including something that it creating the false positives. I don't understand what point you are making. Of course the contents of the EXE depend on "the way it is being created" but if, as it seems, it contains (by chance) the iden...

Re: A disaster

Please Richard do something, I expect a new release of LBB nearly to overcome this problem. Please see the other thread False positives from AV for a discussion of this problem. It is not helpful to say "please do something" when it's not my fault! If you try to blame me, it will mean I a...

Re: False Positives from AV

As for signing certs, doesn't seem worth it, it's just a shame that any EXEs that are now created will end up being binned due to the AV pop ups. As I said, you can solve the problem for specific EXEs by submitting them to the antivirus vendors' websites; they all provide the capability to upload f...

Re: False Positives from AV

Unfortunately there's something of an 'arms race' between antivirus vendors, with more detections equalling 'better' even if they're false positives! The only precautions you can take are to ensure there's a valid VERSIONINFO resource, which you already are, and to sign the EXE if you have the capab...
