Can number of views be shown?

I note with many forums they show the number of views on a topic. Is it possible on this forum and would you consider it a desirable feature?

Indeed, but they are almost invariably meaningless! They can be incremented by visits from bots (e.g. search engines) and for various other reasons probably indicate a wildly optimistic value. I'd say this forum is better without them.

Yes, but it's not visible if you navigate directly to the thread from the front page, which I presume is what Ray was meaning. If you specifically want to see the count you can, but it's an extra click.
